The MSIA breakfast meeting in St. Louis is scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2015. Steve McManus, will be the featured speaker at the June breakfast meeting. Mr. McManus's presentation is entitled:

The Good, Bad And The Ugly Of "Strict Construction"

How has the "Strict Construction" requirement impacted the common law doctrines such as: Personal Comfort Doctrine, Increased Risk Doctrine, Mutual Benefit Doctrine, etc. Mr. McManus is a shareholder with McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips, P.A. which is a workers' compensation law firm practice group. He will discuss the Good, Bad and the Ugly of the "Strict Construction" requirement which came into the act in 2005.   Does "Strict Construction" still exist or have judges and commissioners figured out ways to interpret laws by simply utilizing dictionary definitions.
